Spring 2019
Private Catholic Pre-K-8 School
Burlington, NC
Observed, assisted, and taught in a Kindergarten classroom for 110 hours over the course of a month. This internship was taken in line with my Human Service Studies minor, and introduced me to the younger ages in schools. This experience also allowed me to learn more about the private school sector and the curriculum that they follow.
Winter 2020
Title I Elementary School
Alamance County, NC
Observed and led small group reading discussion in a 5th grade classroom (over zoom) for 20+ hours. This experience occurred mid-pandemic in which all local schools were closed and students were fully virtual. This was my first experience with online teaching in the classroom and allowed me to appreciate the use of technology and also appreciate the importance of in-person instruction.
Fall 2020
Title I Elementary School
Alamance County, NC
Observed, assisted and taught in a 3rd grade classroom for 30+ hours. This experience happened during and after the process of being fully vaccinated, students were returning back to school and a hybrid approach was taken.
